BC (Before Children) we would go out all the time for special date nights. I think it is the best way to stay connected when the regular grind of the week gets you down, or at each others throats. But of course once Ben was born that changed. My mother is wonderful and would take our lovely son once a month sometimes twice a month so we could have a date/go out to dinner/have some marital relations (no I did not tell my mother about that), or honestly sometimes we would order some take out and go to sleep early (piece of heaven). But with Ben getting older my mom couldn't keep him over night and with me being so tired and working and feeling sick, we ended up sticking dates on the back burner.
So another plan fell through for tomorrow night with friends but we already had the babysitter lined up, so...drum roll please...
Mr. K and I are going on a date. A brief one and we have no idea what we are going to do, but honestly if we just sit in the car in the garage and talk, it will really let us relax and communicate. There might even be some making out!
